A Caring Space For You
Hello There and Welcome.
You are a caregiver, a nurturer.
That’s a meaningful part of who you are… but sometimes it feels like that’s all of you.
Maybe you’re looking for ways to remember yourself, for permission to take a step back and include yourself in the care of your family. Even with the best intentions, it can be difficult to do.
There’s that familiar feeling of guilt, or the belief that you have to choose between caring for your children OR for yourself. In the midst of tending to others, sometimes their needs feel too close. It can be hard to stay centered when a child brings their fury or sorrow, and you might find yourself disconnecting or blowing up… or both.
You want to be done setting aside your needs and ignoring your boundaries. You are looking for ways to make some space for yourself. Let this site be a resource for rediscovery, guidance in feeling more confident and embodied, even when life feels stressful and demanding.
Time to reset and put yourself in the picture.

About Shana
Hello and thanks for joining me. My work blends somatic tools, focusing, and creative visualization gained through years of training and experience, in order to invite embodied transformation. My education includes a Master’s of Public Administration from New York University in Health Policy, as well as a Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from Georgia State University. I am also a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and have studied Inner Relationship Focusing. Prior to these programs, I trained in Western herbal medicine, apprenticed with an acupuncturist, and practiced as a community herbalist. I hold a lens of social justice, and recognize that each person’s experience is couched within social and environmental contexts.
These varied threads of experience inform a holistic approach to wellness, allowing me to incorporate creative ways of building awareness and insight. For more than 20 years, I have worked with helping people in different capacities. I am honored to share with you a range of skills and perspectives through Rooted Resilience.
