Presencing for Parents A Six-Week Program
Presencing for Parents
A Six-Week Workshop to Support You
Have you been so busy taking care of other people that it feels like you have forgotten yourself?
You either take care of your family or prioritize your own needs, but it’s hard to see how you can have room for both. That leaves you feeling like your mind is somewhere else, like it’s hard to be where you are right now. Maybe you find yourself with little patience for anything that feels like a demand, snapping at people and regretting it later.
What if you could slow down, even in the busy moments?
There are ways to notice and affirm your own needs and boundaries, even as you care for others. You can feel more present and confident.
You can care for yourself too.
Maybe someone in your life has been saying you should do something for ‘self-care’, and you think – what in the world does that mean? Is that okay? What would that even look like? This program is not about getting your nails done or taking a weekend trip. Sure, that can help, but that’s not what this is. This course is about how, in the day to day, you can use somatic (body-based) and creative tools to stay connected with yourself or reconnect after overwhelming moments. It’s about growing an embodied sense of what you feel when you really show up for yourself, and awareness that you are able to access that feeling regularly. It’s about knowing who you are and feeling like yourself so that you can deepen relationships with integrity.
Program Facilitation
Hi, I’m Shana Wood (she/ her), a curious observer of human behavior and parent to two energetic children. For over 20 years, I have studied different healing modalities and worked with helping people clinically and communally. As a parent, I continuously navigates the relationship between closeness and individuation, and really get the challenges that come with creating healthier patterns for ourselves and our families. My background in somatic work informs this program’s transformative approaches.

Is Presencing for Parents a good fit for you now?
This program is for you if you relate to the following:
- You love your kids, but the never-ending tasks of parenthood can leave you feeling depleted and underappreciated, which makes it difficult to connect with the ones you love in the moment.
- When you do take time for yourself, you feel guilty, like you’re letting someone down
- It’s hard to say no and to balance it all, so you find yourself escaping into work, alcohol, doomscrolling…
- You used to know who you were, feel confident, but since becoming a parent, your identity has been upended and you’re not sure who you are any more
- Alone time seems like a non-entity, but somehow you feel lonely
This program may not be a good fit for you now if:
- You are in need of higher levels of care and are not currently working with a therapist (this program is not therapy)
- At this time, you are not able to devote any space or time to weekly meetings and light homework
